I told y’all I’m a 90’s girl and nothing says 90’s like the BEST album EVER! Alanis Morissette changed my life when she dropped “Jagged Little Pill”. All the lyrics were written inside my notebooks in middle school. Grunge was everything in the 90’s! Ah, I miss the 90’s!
This musical piece of art is literally the anthem to my life! If you want to know or understand me better, listen to the album. Every song correlates to a piece of me and it will be played on repeat at my funeral. Anyone who knows me personally will vouch this is my absolute favorite album.

On the subject of my favorite album, let me talk about the artist. Alanis is a mom and still headbangs at her shows! An inspiration to women and mothers everywhere! I just saw her “Jagged Little Pill” tour in West Palm Beach with Garbage and this show was a sign that I must pursue my writing dreams. Women empowerment was in the air. Alanis was extraordinary! She even incorporated her kids into her show, they came out on stage and popped poppers! Not to mention she played the secret song from the album! (If you know, you know!)

I heard about the tour when I was pregnant with my soon to be known as quarantine baby. I told my husband about the tour and I was bummed because I couldn’t go. He secretly got me tickets for Christmas in 2019 for her show in the fall of 2020. Needless to say, I cried so much from being so excited to FINALLY see her perform this album live but, also because I was 8 months pregnant. We had my parents and his mom set up to babysit. Then of course you know Covid-19 happened and her show was postponed. We got the green light that the show was still going to happen in 2021 and I was counting down the days!

This would be our first time away from the kids but, we did need some mom and dad time. Plus, I had to see this show. It was more than I ever anticipated. Garbage was so good too! The vibes were on point, the show was spectacular! Alanis had women help lines on the screens, it was girl power everywhere! I would literally pay to see the exact same show over and over again.

If Alanis were to ever read this, I would tell her to never change and keep inspiring women to be strong! (She was the “me too” movement before it even started.) I want her to know how much of an inspiration she has has been and how that album got me through the hardest and best times of my life! Thank you for being tough and not being what society wanted, we needed.. I needed you just the way you are.
