Located on the coast of North Carolina, in Wilmington, you will find Haymae Handmade. Haymae Handmade is a mama-owned small business, that offers handmade and unique products. Hayley Williams not only owns and operates the business, but she is also the creative brain and hands-on maker of everything Haymae offers. She is a paper artist and creates a variety of home decor pieces. Each piece of art is unique and flawless. I fell in love with her delicate homemade paper flowers the moment I first came across her beautiful shadow boxes.

Tiffany: What made you decide to start your business?

Hayley: I have always enjoyed crafting as a hobby. In May of 2021, my husband and children gifted me a Cricut cutting machine for Mother’s Day. Boy did it go from there! The more I created, the more my Momma and family encouraged me to share it with others and try to sell a few items. Now here we are with a hobby that accidentally turned into a business and I would not have it any other way!

Tiffany: Where do you see your business in 5 years?

Hayley: This question really had me thinking. I hope to see growth in multiple areas of my business. Just like the rest of us, I would love to see growth that creates more financial freedom but, I also hope to continue to see growth in myself. I have always been very introverted and struggle with social anxiety. Through my business, I am meeting other wonderful vendors and small business owners. I am developing friendships I cherish, that may have never existed if it were not for my business. In 5 years, I would love to continue to be alongside of other small business owners doing what we love, supporting each other, and seeing them grow as well. One particular goal I also have for my business, is to eventually have some handmade product in a store. That would be a dream come true!

Tiffany: Who are you besides business owner?

Hayley: While I am grateful to be a business owner, I am also a lot more. I am a Christian. I love Jesus and I hope to show nothing less than the love of Jesus in my business and outside of my business. In all that I do, I want to love God and to love others. I am a wife to my very best friend and soulmate. We have been married for 9 years and even on the days we don’t really like each other, we love the mess out of each other. I’m Mama, Mommy, MOMMM! We have 4 beautiful children between the ages of one and nine. Three girls and one boy. I’m a daughter. I’m a friend. I’m a homemaker. I’m a country girl who loves the beach and basically lives on a mini farm with chickens, bunnies, dogs, and barefoot wild children. Sounds like beautiful chaos, right? I’m a reader, traveler, and Grey’s Anatomy fan.

Tiffany: What are you most proud of in your life?

Hayley: I would easily say I’m most proud of my family. We are a team. We stick together through the thick and thin. We get through the great times, the hard times, and all the in between together. I love them. I love who they are. I love that I get to be a wife, mama, daughter, sister. I thank God every single day for my family and I do not take it for granted.
